Christmas is upon us, the geese have gotten fat and it’s nearly time to eat until your sides hurt. BUT maybe you still aren’t feeling as Christmassy as you’d like? Or you’ve been so busy feeding the geese that you haven’t made it to any special events yet? Fear not because we’ve found a few for you to really help you get into the spirt. Lights, carols or a little magic there are some great things going on in Sydney.
City
It’s the ultimate Christmas Village in the heart of Sydney. There’s the Tales of Christmas installations, giant snow globe, summer night markets, and Christmas choirs. And best of all, it’s free.
When – every day until Christmas Day – 9am – 12am
Martin Place Christmas Tree sing along
The tree at Martin Place is designed to brighten the evening from dusk. There’s also a choir every night until Christmas Eve, so you can sing along to your favourite carols and let the Christmas spirit spread over you.
When – 6pm – 8pm until Christmas Eve
The lights of Christmas – St Mary’s Cathedral
It’s the star of Sydney’s public Christmas celebrations every year and this year’s no exception. The evening starts off with a choir performance at 7.30pm every evening. This year there’ll be lots of food to choose from including festive Churros and gelato. Yum!
When – Every evening 7.30-12am until Christmas Day
Christmas carol services
There’s nothing that gets us in the Christmas spirit more than a good old fashioned carol service on Christmas Eve. If you’re wondering where to go we’ve listed a few for you here:
