The acceptance of street art has risen over the years, with some Street Artists winning coveted prizes for their work. And even though it’s been controversial in times gone by, it’s now becoming a recognised – and often beautiful – form of artistic expression.
We’re proud to say that Sydney has their own style of street art. One that is witty and carefree but also daring and edgy. A lot of the time, it makes a point – in an extremely beautiful and eye-catching way.

Redfern
The suburb is well-known for their artistic take on political subjects as well as reflective murals on life itself. A stroll through the streets of Redfern is never boring, with creativity bouncing from the walls.

Newtown
This edgy suburb is packed full of murals and street art that inspires and sings a meaningful song.
St Peters
There’s one particular street to head to in the suburb of St Peters and that street is May Lane. Tugi Balog started the trend in 2010 when he invited artists to paint the back alley of his framing business. This trend has now spread and there are pieces to admire from artists around the world.
Chippendale
