- Cadman’s Cottage in The Rocks is Sydney’s oldest house. It was built in 1816.
- “Sculpture by the Sea” began in 1996 at Bondi Beach and is Australia’s largest outdoor sculpture exhibit.
- Sydney Fish Market is the largest of its kind in the Southern Hemisphere and 3rd largest in the world.
- Our infamous harbour is the deepest natural harbour in the world. It holds 562,000 mega litres of water at high tide.
- Sydney’s Australia Day Regatta started in 1937 and is now the oldest continuous conducted annual sailing regatta in the world.
- Most Sydney beaches offer picnic shelters, electric bbqs, play areas, kiosks, toilets and change-rooms.
- We officially became a city in 1842.
